Girls are evil proof joke. à what’s wrong with this? Money isn’t evil…

: Money…

· Money makes the world go around.

· Money is power.

· Money is big news.

How do radio stations promote themselves? CASH giveaways.

What makes the news? Big lotto jackpots.

But is money evil? No.

In the hands of an evil person it’s evil. In a good person good.

Ecclesiastes 10:19 says “Money is the answer to everything”.

But Money can’t buy you love – correct.

And love can’t put petrol in your car or pay your phone bill.

World hunger? Money. Poverty? Money. Disease? Research costs money. Reach the world with the message of Jesus? Money. God’s wants money in your hands to do good.

: Attitudes (Blessed)

The fact is many of us have some pretty warped views about money.

We allow old wives tales to dominate our thinking.

Eg small profit organisation. What tha?

These warped views are not healthy.

We need healthy attitudes towards money.

We all need money. We all are going to use money.

Every week for the rest of our lives money in some way shape or form will be something we have to think about.

We need to see what the bible says. God wants to bless you.

Bless = “to have good of any kind bestowed upon you.”

“divinely or supremely favoured, fortunate or happy”

That is how I want my life described.

This is a privledge of being a Son of God!!

: Genesis 12:1-3 – God’s promises to Abraham. Acts 3:25.

This is my God speaking to us today.

God’s desire is to increase radically every capacity in your life.

Take “average” and make it “awesome”.

Take “natural” and make it “supernatural”.

Take “mediocre” and make it “magnificent”.

: You say “how?” I have nothing.

My parents have nothing. I’ll never have anything. I’ll never have enough.

Firstly, that’s an attitude. “Godliness with contentment is great gain”. You have to understand why God wants to bless you – so you can “bless the nations of the world”.

You are blessed to be a blessing. God’s doesn’t want you to lack.

How things are today are not how they need to stay:

Proverbs 13:23 “there is much food in the unplowed ground of the poor”

Even in the poorest person’s life there is potential for blessing. There is potential in everyone’s life – it’s just that the poor haven’t taken that opportunity yet to plow their field. Go to work and be in a position to receive (eg football).

If your field isn’t plowed how can you reap anything? You can’t. But the potential is there.

: SIX PRINCIPLES TO SEE YOUR LIFE BLESSED.

1. Guaranteed Outcomes? Obey and GIVE.

Principle of Give and it shall be Given to you.

Proverbs 3:9-10

Malachi 3:10

God requires that we give 10% of our income to the church body. Not generation-j. The church itself.

Who was the first to do it? Abraham. Heb 7:1?

People say “10%?!?” But they spend 10% on cigarettes etc.

Better 90% blessed than 100% cursed.

This is a spiritual principle: GIVE and it shall be Given to you. How if I give I have less. Paradox of the bible. But TEST GOD and try it to be true.

2. Generous Spirit.

Principle of Sowing and Reaping.

Why do we have offerings and not charge? To teach and demonstrate a generous spirit!

Examples of Suzie Moran, Dick Smith, Bill Gates – all practice this principle. Generousity is rewarded by more. It doesn’t make sense on a logical level but it is undisputably true.

Proverbs 11:24-25 says “…”

Eg buy your friends ticket next time you go to the movies etc.

3. Go Work!

Principle of You do the Possible, God does the impossible.

Proverbs 10:4, 20:4, 20:13

God will bless what you do, not what you don’t do.

There is a principle in you acting in faith first, then God will act to bless.

It won’t lob in your lap – you have to do what you can do, do it well and God will use that to bless you.

You say “isn’t it me doing that?” No – It’s God’s favour is upon you.

4. Get Smart.

Principle is be faithful with the little before you are entrusted with much.

We all have something. Even if it’s five cents. Start with that.

M.Ball testimony - $2 in offering. Broke his skate board – His dad brought him a new one.

You say if I had $200 per week – then I’d give. No you wouldn’t! It’s easier to give $2 than $20. So start small.

Be careful with what you spend your money on. If you are a waster – then you will never have enough.

5. Get out of Debt.

Principle is debt is a priority to pay off.

Got to go from negative to zero before you go to positives.

Psalm 37:21

Proverbs 22:7, 22:26-27

Romans 13:8

Our situation – re: debt owing. Loans are contracts agree to repay – different.

If you people money – pay them back first before you do anything else with that money.

6. God is God not Money.

Principle is the Love of Money is the root of all evil.

Eccl 5:10

2 Timothy 6:10

The love of money is the problem not money. You can have no money and still it can be the God of your life.

“Where you’re treasure is there your heart will be also.” If you get defensive about this money talk your heart is leaping to where your treasure is - $$.

But if talk about giving pumps you up – your treasure is most probably in seeing people get God’s truth into them to see lives set free.

I’m the latter.

: Set Free..

That’s the heart of what I wish to convey: I want to see you set free.

Giving sacrificially, obeying God, will result in breakthrough.

NEXT WEEK: FIRST FRUITS = GIVE FOR BREAKTHROUGH.

Exodus 23:16 “celebrate the feast of the harvest with your first fruits of the crops you sow in your field”

Never live for money – it’ll leave you empty.

Have a healthy attitude towards it. Believe and trust God for it.

But remember – “I have no other God’s before me”.

· Salvation.

· Prayer for breakthrough.

· Pray for God to speak regarding what to give.
